Summer time
Third week of summer camp is over, been a lot of fun so far. Gets SO hot though during the day that by the time I get home, I shower then pass out on my bed from exhaustion and running around. Yesterday I was awarded as Counselor Of the Week (that makes me a COW...moooo!!!) and my bunch of kids were group of the week. Very exciting! Des and Nichole chose me b/c the kids reflect the counselor and feed off of the crazyness that goes on. I'm so proud of my kids. :) The theme this week was Sizzlin' Safari, so each day I'd come in dressed up with safari stuff.. big safari hat, khakis, binoculars, water bottle, and KrAzY socks for every day.. along with an energy drink in one hand to get me through the day.
On Thursday I had jury duty which was a waste of my day! Got there at 8am. There were 4 trials.. 2 misdemeanor and 2 criminal. The lady in charge said we'd get to leave around 2:30, but guess who comes strolling in? The sheriffs come in exactly at 2:30 with a list of names and numbers to be on the panel. Scratch the idea of leaving early. My name and juror number got selected along with 25 others, to be in a criminal case. We were told criminal cases last about 3 days. Got to the court room, the judge asked us a bunch of questions then he had to discuss with the attorneys who would actually sit on the panel. We were sent outside into the lobby for a few mins and came in. The judge told us that the guy who was to represent one of the clients suddenly fell ill, the case would be postponed til the next day and we were free to go home. That was the best news we had heard all day. Plus, we don't have to come back for a year to do jury duty again! Got home around 4.
In the evening Nick and I went out. He drove to this side of town and we went to play putt putt golf at Pirates Cove, only to find it was super packed, plus his friend wasn't working, so no discount for us. Instead we walked around The Mercado for a while, drove around I-drive and decided on going to Backyard Billiards and played 3 games of pool. Overall it was a fun nite. I won the first game and he won the other two. Next time we're gonna put our high school golf skills to the test and be Swashbuckling Pirates and play putt putt golf...he's going downnnn muahahaha!
Tomorrow is Father's day, but we're gonna celebrate it today b/c my dad has to work 2mrw. Time to go buy a card and figure out what to get him. Just a random thought.. we're already 6 months into this year!! Holy crap, its gone by so fast. I want it to slow down. Like right now. Ok byeee :)
