I am writing a paper, for my own amusement. I am using gedit the crappy little text-editor in the default install, as learning emacs is too complicated for me. I turn on spell-checking. It claims that the following (amongst others) are misspelt:
following
every
shortest
WHY? If I check the "set language" option, it is "English". A number of localised English options also exist. Choosing any localised option makes the above be determined to be spelt correctly.
Why is the default option on Ubuntu always "be shit"?
