while I am sure you are ENTIRELY correct, two notes:
1 - come on... you know better than to trust half of what Wikipedia says ;] 2 - well, ok, I agree. the Great and Wise Wizards of Time and Space would be the Timelords*
I may have to punch you in the face for that... but mass fandom can have negative effects, sometimes. So you get a pass. (I refused to read Harry Potter for YEARS... glad I finally did, though.)
A show where they recycle the same villains ten times a season... I mean, you used to see the daleks only every few years...now they're just ramming them down our throats...
And the doctor just magically knows everything, and has a device which magically fixes everything all the time...
::shrugs:: I had a huge crush on him as The Doctor, growing up... but that's all I ever knew him as. So I'm not sure how much that counts in my favour.
I don't know... it's one fandom I've never been able to defend, never really tried to. It's cheesy, and silly, and completely heartbreaking at times. But, it gives me hope for humans as a whole. Maybe that's part of the appeal.
