I use to think that I wasn't a cynical person, always wondering why I couldn't stand being around some people, well most people. Until one day I looked up at my husband and asked, "babe am I cynical," and with an honest reply he said, "yes, yes you are." I sat there, not quite surprised by what he said, nor offended. i become more and more cynical as time goes by, as well. it is difficult not to lose faith in humanity as you see so much bad stuff happen in the world around you... i try to keep the faith and stick by young anne frank's words "i still believe that through it all people are truly good at heart" (something like that, anyway) but though she went through much more terror than you or i could imagine, i still find it difficult at times to believe that anymore. try to keep up hope that truly good people still do exist. like your husband, yourself, and i.

that is an awsome quote to live your life by, and i think there is still some good in people, it is just hard to believe it sometimes, like you said. the people out here are definitely a different kind of bread, and even though i have met a few really awsome people, most of them are not so awsome, for example, you hold the door open for someone, a rather nice gesture, and the person just gives a dirty look like you just ran over there beloved pet or something, it is ridiculous, but you my friend are one of those people that definitely kicks ass.
