This morning I finished off a baby blanket for a friend. She had no idea I was working on one, and she cried. It really made my day.
I was really worried that she shouldn't like it. I always am when I make something for someone, and it is a surprise. The blanket itself is a crocheted off-white, with a baby blue border. It is a really classic pattern, and works well for both girls and boys. It is acrylic (super soft and durable, but also washable), fluffy, with just a hint of pearl thread to make it more interesting to look at.
No pictures, because I've been working on it for months, and had gotten bored, until I saw my friend yesterday, it lit a fire under me to get it done. I also bought the fibre for my new sweater when I was in Montreal last week. It is a beautiful merino cashmere blend that feels like a cloud. I can't wait to get it started!
