Poem - hope

i've been waiting for You
all my tulmentous life
every night
i wrap my silence in the threads
of my dream
of You
and every morning
i pray, somehow
that You be there

after countless devestations
i still hope
i still have my dogged hope
bloodied and in tatters
but still desperately alive
shedding what little light
it can muster
to light my way

such unyielding tenacity!
so much stronger
than i could ever hope to be
weathering a storm of despairs
and a sea of worries
just to hold on
one tormented day more

the one last thing
keeping an emptied heart
from giving out
and finally collapsing

i owe so much to my hope
my hope of You
ah, such dreams!
if i could share them with You
even for only a moment
the space of a heartbeat
You'd understand
and, maybe then
You'd believe in me, too
and share this dream of mine

my hope
my salvation
come to me!
wrap me in Your loving arms
let me share Your beautiful warmth
make me whole again
oh, my love!
find me
complete me
save me from myself
i am yours
forever!
