Defending Dennis Cooper
I've been feeling really torn lately because of all the comments that seem to indicate that all the JT fans hate Dennis Cooper now, and I'm sorry, but I don't. I don't have to agree with what he's been saying to still love his work. I think that a writer I admire could do something truly despicable - murder someone, say, or worse - and while I may lose some or all of my respect for the person, the writing itself would still be brilliant. Art can't be tarnished by what the artist does in his personal life.
