Someone's in the Kitchen ...

I have finally caught up with reading all of my friends entries over the weekend.

As for my weekend, Friday night we skipped the Ren Faire party (by the time we got there we would have had less than an hour before we'd have to leave and with almost two hours of travel included, it seemed like a good decision). Watched a little TV while beldar was at work. He got home around 2 AM and then we got up at 8 AM so we could see "Pinocchio" at B&B. The show was cute and the kids ate it up. It was nice seeing a lot of the actors we knew and some of the crew.

After that, we went to Greenwood (the south suburb of Indy) and wasted time by shopping. We had lunch at Baja Fresh (cadhla's always raving about there food and now I know why). I actually could order something off of the menu (a salad, no less) without having to make a change or substitution. And it was absolutely delicious. I can't wait to go back there again. After all of the shopping was finished, we went to Clark Appliance Showcase to see Alton Brown. My god, I love this man. He's cute, funny intelligent and HE CAN COOK! We bought a copy of his latest book and he autographed it and my T-shirt. WhooHoo! He was not only impressed by the shirt but he commented on a certain illustration of the Great Cthulhu made by a certain member of a certain band and when I told him about the pic and the band he actually understood what I was talking about and was somewhat disturbed by it's existance. Again, I LOVE this man.

After I can down from that high, we sought out some dinner at a little diner and ordered off their special "OctoberFest" menu. beldar had the combo plate (sausage, sauerkraut, German potato salad and a roll) and I had the Rueben Omelette. I had no idea how this would taste but I now firmly believe that sauerkraut and eggs are a match made in heaven. After dinner, we went down and saw another show "The Baron's Revenge". It was cute but some of the actors were painful to watch. I think it would play best to the "Pinocchio" crowd, though.

Sunday was concom. It lasted forever but we ducked out at 4 so we could run up to Toys-R-Us and buy some games as their buy-one-get-one-free sale is on this week (the vast majority of our games have come from this sale throughout the years). We then grabbed a nice dinner and then went home and caught up on some of our DVRed shows. Tonight we're going to do laundry onsite so we should be able to catch up with a bunch more.

Fun stuff tomorrow!
