Alright everyone! I accept your overwhelming decision and have finally broken down and turned on the heat this morning. It's still only set to about 60 (I rarely have it above 55-60 even when it's on), but it is on. I was going to do it last night but the hair around my ears was irritating me and making me overheated so it just wasn't practical then.
As a note for those of you concerned about the systems functions and the pipes, we live in one half of a duplex and the neighbors have had their heat on for a while. Therefore, that wasn't really an issue.
I do thank you all for your input. I hope you are all staying comfortably warm or cool in your respective lives. I will talk to you all again soon.
