The Road Is Long ...

I gotta say, the past few days have been very trying. I had a pretty wonderful day on Tuesday. I spent much of the day with my Corinthian, Jack. beldar came home early because he's been feeling sick from the exposure to over 30,000 different sets of germs on top of extreme exertion at GenCon. He's still not 100%. I tried to bring him Pho (it's really great when you're feeling ill) but the place is closed on Tuesdays. That evening I went over to friendstephen's to help him with cleaning as his potential new girlfriend is coming over this weekend and he's got a long way to go to get it ready for her.

Yesterday was spent mostly doing laundry. It ended up being a 10 hour job. I was supposed to meet up with Jack that morning during it but when I arrived at his place there was a note saying he had gone to the hospital. I spent most of the day worried and distracted over this. After laundry I tried to check up on him at various hospitals but couldn't find him. I drove over to his place to possibly check up on him and managed to get lucky. He was not doing well though. It turns out he's had a small stroke and is suffering from dysphagia. It's also affecting his speaking abilities and communications. I stayed with him for a while until he recovered somewhat from the bad attack he suffered right after I arrived. I was supposed to check up on him today but he sent me an email early this morning saying he wasn't feeling up to visitors. I will try to check up on him again tomorrow.

After leaving him I met back up with beldar and he helped me deliver friendstephen's laundry back to him. Afterwards, we had a very late dinner which was good as I was too busy/worried/distracted/etc. to have eaten anything since lunch on Tuesday. I was not doing too well myself.

I've been spending today just trying to get by and hoping to get my collective shit together with very mixed results. However, thanks to one of my friends on twitter, this post that they shared actually made me laugh and forget my stresses and woes for at least a few minutes so I thought I'd share it with you as well.

*****EDITED TO FIX ABOVE LINK**********

So that's it for now. Tonight is the preview kick-off party for the Fringe Festival and tomorrow starts the festival itself. I'm really not ready for the festival to begin. I still can't find my guidebook and haven't even begun to formulate a schedule for it.

So, that's my life folks. I pray that yours is better. I will talk to you again as soon as possible.

TTFN!
