Everybody Play The Game ...

Alright, time for the GenCon update. Even though we scaled back our request for review copies, we still ended up bringing home over 40 games. We did buy a few of them and there were at least 10 that we couldn't get because they're not available yet. Still, we had an amazing haul.

As for the convention itself, we spent almost all of Thursday working our way through about 2/3rds of the dealer's room. We did sneak out for a short time to pick up our stuff from hicat for her little scavenger hunt and then went over to the Circle City Bar & Grille for lunch. Slugfest games, makers of The Red Dragon Inn took over the restaurant for the whole weekend as the Red Dragon Inn and offered great food & drink specials the whole weekend. It was truly the best food deal of the whole convention.

That evening was the Miskatonic Alumni Meeting and I was there as the head cheerleader to run cheerleader tryouts. Afterwards, we went to see Tom Smith's
"Two-Dollar Show"
.

Friday we spent time meeting up with LJ friends and had lunch with astria and then finally got into the dealer's room around 1ish. Finished the room and had some fun play-testing a lot of great games. Then due to the crowds, we left the area for dinner and made it back in time for me to get a little bloodied up for the Zombie Shamble. Here's some video of it (including me).

Saturday was a marathon. We got up early and had a big breakfast at the Red Dragon Inn then I worked the Art Show to get artist contact information since I'm running the art show at next year's convention. Then we played more games, hung out with friends and that evening was full of many fun activities. We had planned to go to the "Knights of the Dinner Table" live reading but ended up going to the Marc Gunn concert (*much to his amusement and chagrin). Then we all went to see Tom Smith in concert again and had a blast (pics from that in an upcoming post). After that we had planned to go to the Hentai Dubbing but instead ended up participating in the 4 hour-long "Who's Line Is It Anyway?"(as naughty as you wanna be). Not only did we have a great time but I totally blew out my voice and it still hasn't recovered. We didn't get to bed that night until 3 but don't regret it.

Sunday was spent picking up games and in general having a good time. I swear, I have never been so happy for the convention to have been over before in my life. I was totally worn out.

So, that was my weekend. I will post more pics soon. Hope you're all doing well. I will talk to you again tomorrow.

TTFN!
