Well, one more day before the big trip. Tonight will be filled with wrapping presents, packing as well as getting last minute things done. I need to touch up my dye job and was hoping to do that tonight but am thinking tomorrow night might be best for it. We also need to clean out the car. Since it will be rainy and most of the garbage was created by him anyway, I'm probably going to have
beldar handle that duty.
Last night we watched the extras and commentary track of "Snakes on a Plane". It was really fun. Some of the stories they told were priceless (especially the one about the peeing guy in the bathroom and his snake attack experience). However, the CGI guys really need a strong reality check. They were boasting how you couldn't tell which snakes were real and which were CGI. They obviously think too much of their work and need to hang around more real snakes. The CGI snakes were OBVIOUS fer christ-sakes. Still, it was a lot of fun and the featurettes and documentaries were nice (although
wigu has a much rounder face than I expected him to).
Anyway, other big news, if you're not watching the penguincam, you really should be. The eggs have hatched and the little chicks are occasionally visible. They are adorable. Check out their progress and that of the rest of the colony.
Speaking of cold and snowy places, one of the big news stories this morning was that the Denver airport is closed. This is interesting because this airport was built to never be closed for weather problems of any kind. Technically, the airport is fine and shouldn't be closed. However, they never took into account the road leading to the airport when it was built and it gets shut down and becomes impassable quite often. Therefore, they have to shut down the airport. Another example of brilliance at work.
Well, that's about it for me for now. I will post again later if anything comes up. Otherwise, I'll post tomorrow.
TTFN!
