Well, I had a pretty good weekend despite it not going as planned.
I found out Friday that insurance lied and are not covering my prescription after all. I called the doctor & told them but they haven't called me back so I guess I'll just talk to them about it when one of us goes in next (
beldar's leg isn't getting any better and one of us will come up sick in the next month or so). Oh well, I've at least got samples to last me till Christmas.
Anyway, we got the books from the living room unpacked and put away (not all of them where they will ultimately be but they're out of boxes and on shelves for now). I still need to unpack penguins but I can do that this week. We also haven't gotten our clothing sorted yet but again, hopefully we can get to that this week (along with laundry).
We didn't get the couch because of the whole truck snafu. They thought we had one and we thought they did. They are getting a truck and will get it to us but it won't be there until around the 27th or so. However, we do have space for it cleared and we got the rest of the curtains hung so things are looking nicer.
We haven't heard from
mari_banfathi in ages and we're supposed to go see her next weekend. However, I'm getting the feeling that we're not going to after all. I think we've decided that if we don't hear from her we will go to the Whoosier Holloween party on Saturday night and then drive up to Chicago early Sunday morning and see the Tut exhibit and then drive home that evening after the museum closes (should mean leaving there at a decent hour). I have that Monday off work so I'm good even if we get back late. If not, we'll probably just take a day off during Novemeber and drive up to see the exhibit then.
Anyway, on Saturday (in between unpacking & cleaning) we went out to see a sand manadala at the local Unity church. It was really neat. I was surprised at the dimensionality of it (I guess I expected it to be flatter). We were there near the end so we stayed for the destruction ceremony and got a small packet of sand to keep. It was really an amazing event and I'm so glad I finally got to go to one as I have been wanting to for years.
This weekend we also got to catch up on some of the stuff we had saved on the DVR (we still have a bunch to watch, but we're making a dent now). We finally got through the end of season one of "Eureka". This is a fun little show. It's not the best in the world but it is cute, quirky and enjoyable. I look forward to season two.
We finally got to see Epsiode 2 of "Dexter" & Episodes 1 & 3 of "Heroes" (we missed episode 1 of "Dexter" & 2 of "Heroes" due to not having cable during the move). All I can say about both of them is we are so pwned! These shows are amazing. The writing is crisp and smart. They don't condescend and they seem to really respect their audience.
Well, I guess that's about it for me for today. I'll write again tomorrow.
TTFN!
