valentines day has to be one of the stupidest holidays ever invented. i'm not just saying that because i am single, but come on. ONE day to symbolize ur love for people. that's lame. love should be celebrated everyday. ok, maybe that's cheesy, but i think valentines day has definitely transformed from being a day about love in to singles awareness day. it has become limited to just couples when i believe its true purpose is to celebrate love itself for everyone. it is almost a day of giving thanks for those you love and those who love you, not a day of being bombarded by couples showing their love with flashy gifts and bragging about their great relationships. i'm not trying to be bitter, but for me, i certainly celebrate the love i have for my family and my friends as often as i can and valentines day is truly the only day i have felt lonely since the beginning of the year. i dunno what i mean to say here, but it just seems that valentines day, along with many other holidays, are getting further and further away from their true meaning. (even if they are made up by the card companies)

anyway, this is one of my favorite quotes of all time and i think it appropriate for this occasion:
