ill prepared Brit

My countdown till Christmas has well and truly begun! The tree is up and decorated and the presents are under it - As I mentioned previously me and Stian have really gone all out this year, well at least much more than we'd intended to. We're have most of our presents in England and I've ordered all the presents for my family to there since adding bags on Ryanair costs a fortune! We fly over on Monday and I'm so excited! Though the weather is worrying me - If you live in England you'll be well aware of its inability to function with an inch of snowfall I'm praying that they don't shut down the London airports again (they were already shut earlier this week) and I really didn't pay 300 pounds for nothing! (Here's hoping!)

At least in Norway they can handle the snow, well I say 'they' because personally I cannot. I adore the prettiness that it creates however I really can't even walk the dog when its hitting minus 20'c and slippery as hell, I've put thermals on my Christmas list so for Teddy's (and Stians, since he has to walk him if I can't) sake I hope I get some. I think I've been particularly good this year so I should definately be on the 'Nice' List! (Heres hoping!)

Our Christmas shopping is also finished, we're off out tomorrow to the mall to get some pre-Christmas goodies! I don't personally feel like I need anything until the 25th (I just LOVE gifts, much more than the actual item itself I just find it exciting when its all wrapped and under the tree etc. wrap me up a pencil and I'll honestly be pleased!) but Stian was given 1000kr (around 150 dollars for you Americans.) from each of his work so he's insisting we go out! I might do a little haul post if I have time over the weekend :)

I cannot wait to get home and spend Christmas with the family, I think thats something you really take for granted when your young at at home or even when your just close to home (not a plane journey away like me) I'm also dying to see Hollie (My English rough collie girl) she's my dog but very particular (rescued has a few issues we've solved but shes still unsure of a lot of things) so she - for the time being- is staying in England with my parents and Charlie their dog. I would love to have her here with me and Teddy but you know what its like when you have animals, its whats best for them not whats best for you!

Back to the cheery subject of Christmas anyway! As I was saying I am ill-equipped for snow and ice, my favourite boots don't even have grip lines on the bottom! Alas this does not stop me from occasionally wearing them and just trying to focus on placing one foot past another, I wore them on Tuesday and managed one of those comical 'almost' falls on the ice my arms went up in the air I gained and then rapidly lost balance several times and really did not appreciate the grins of the Winter savvy Norwegians standing by! Thankfully no-one had a camera. Teddy on the other hand is loving the snow! I put my Winter wellies on and braved the snow last night and we went out, I'll post a photo below but honestly this does not show how deep the snow actually was as when you stepped on it your foot only went down so much (not to the ground) as the snow was so thick that when you stood on it you were crushing it down!
