Old man scowls, protects people

Hung out with Paul last night, which is always a delight. Makes the fact that I do it so little a bummer. Much like Steve, Paul and I connect on some weird level. Sometimes all we need to do is shoot the breeze and we'll have a good time. Anyway, Paul and I saw Gran Torino last night at the Birmingham 8. Oddly packed for being 9 PM on a Sunday night, but I guess Gran Torino is that popular. The theater showing it was packed, very few seats were empty. The film was pretty good, Clint Eastwood played a hard edged, old school, racist old man, and pretty much scowled the entire film. I wasn't expecting it to be funny, but I, along with everyone else in the theater, laughed quite a lot. Pretty sad too, especially the ending. I am man enough to admit I teared up. Oh yeah, and the barber shop scenes were filmed right here in Royal Oak. At one point Paul says you can even see the post office right across the street.

I guess I missed it, but this film looks great.

My next post will probably be my big end of the year post (post length not assured, check with physicians before reading) about anything and everything from this year, to my hopes and aspirations for the next. Should be fun, so see you next time.
