In-jokes that deserve a wider hearing.
Since I know that most of you enjoy playing games with words, what phrases do you use among your elite inner circle that you think would be useful in wider circulation? My examples follow.
"So, how about that Prisoner Christmas Special?" Between myself and sivib . Meaning, "This conversation is so depressing that any change of subject, any at all, would have to be for the better. So let's have one now."
"But where is the caldera?" Between myself and beloved (non-LJ) spouse. From a documentary about the Yellowstone National Park supervolcano. A scientist is filmed saying something like "we saw all these volcanic features but we had to ask, where is the caldera?"
Outdoors at Yellowstone. With a Huge. Round. Valley. in the background. Ergo, "somebody is missing the extremely obvious."
