"Lex Luthor and a fun house, sure Lois nothing says trap than Luthor luring you to your doom in a dark and creepy fun house. There better not be slides," Lois muttered to herself as she followed Lex. She was trying to be subtle about it but well, she was kind of obvious seeing as she was carrying a giant pile of stuffed toys.

Lex wasn't blind and the woman with the pile of toys was a little hard to miss. Especially since she was clearly following him. But he pretended not to notice as he entered the Fun House. Thankfully, the interior was dark and once he led her a ways in, it was easy to duck into a corner so she could walk by him.

"Next time Lois, maybe leave the toys at home." Lois whispered to herself, following Lex into the dark and creepy house. Walking past Lex in the dark Lois paused, looking around before sighing. Typical, he'd slithered off. "Great now you've lost the Diet Coke of evil. Son of a- okay, if you were Lex Luthor what would you do?"

Probably hide behind her and wait to go past.

...Oh, crap.

"I swear to god Lex if you're lurking behind me I'm going to kick you so hard you will be singing soprano."

"I like to think if it more as avoiding a tail then lurking but if you insist." Lex said as he moved back into sight a few fight behind her, arms crossed, not at all amused despite his tone of voice. "Which begs the question, why are you following me?"

Lois turned, standing defensively as she watched Lex predictably emerge from the shadows. Okay, in the Luthor school of how to take over the world Lois was sure they must have had a class in lurking because both him and his father were grade A lurkers. No matter what Lex said, definitely lurking.

"Why do you think?" Lois said, sighing. "You're you. If there's something too good to be true and a Luthor is around well.. you get where I'm going with this right?"

If she didn't want him to lurk, then she shouldn't give him reason.

"Funny. I've been here for four years and the island still seems to be in one piece, everyone living quite happily and peacefully. So I'm afraid I don't know where you are going with this reasoning."

Really, what did Clark see in such a loud and closed minded woman?

"Well, I don't know maybe because you were just waiting for the right-" Lois was about to launch into one of her patented loud rambles, poking optional, when she stopped and stared at Lex. Lois waved the cookie monster at him, forgetting it was in her hand for the moment. "-wait. Four years? You've been here four years?"

"Yes. Four years." Lex repeated blandly, despite the muppet being waved at him. "And I arrived from my plane crash after my unfortunate marriage to Dr. Bryce, so we haven't even met, Ms. Lane." He wanted to make a point to her. He had his facts about her, she really should have done the same about him before making ridiculous accusations.

"We've never met?" Lois asked. She didn't know whether or not to believe him, she didn't Trust him anyway but it did explain a few things. "But you know my name. Funny that."

Lex just rolled his eyes. Really, how did Clark stand her? "Because I did my homework, something I thought a reporter for the Daily Planet would understand. When it was clear Clark was crazy for you, I wanted to know more about you, like any good best friend would."

"Yeah? And what did you find out?" Lois asked staring at him. She wasn't going to back down. She trusted Clark but she didn't trust Lex. Not one bit. It would be a long time before she trusted him if she ever did.

"Many things that I'm having a hard time believing right now." Lex didn't have to stand for this and he wasn't going to. "Look Ms. Lane, the fact of the matter is, you are going to have to live with the fact that Clark and I are friends again. You might not be able to forgive the things I've done but remember one thing," and he stressed the next bit, "I have yet to do things."

"Lois, you'd better call me Lois if you're so intent on being friends again with Clark." Lois said, not that she liked Lex calling her anything. Whether or not he remembered or had done the things, she remembered every single moment of them. "Forgiveness is one thing Lex, I could probably forgive you for some of the things you've done- will do, whatever but I can't trust you."

"Alright. Lois." Lex said evenly, even as it rankled that she spoke of forgiveness like he should appreciate it. Why should he appreciate forgiveness for things he hadn't done? But for Clark's sake, he didn't say what he really wanted too...essentially where she could stick her forgiveness. "I never asked you to trust me. But I feel we should at least attempt to get along for Clark's sake. And part of that is not assuming I'm up to something whenever you see me."
