All morning, Gabrielle had been hearing about people gaining extraordinary powers and about both the celebrating and disasters that usually came with such a thing. She wanted to help those who needed comforting and it had taken a while but she'd finally come up with something she knew most people would like

Gabrielle just beamed at Luke and pulled a few cookies from her basket. "That's because they are real Greek cookies. I figured people could use some comfort food with everything going on today." She held them out to Luke, "Here, have some."

At first, Gabrielle smiled when Luke seemed to enjoy the treat...and then blinked when he just kept staring at her. He held her hand in both of his and didn't seem like he wanted to let go.

"Luke? Are you alright?"

Despite giving him an odd look at the change, Gabrielle nodded. It would take more then that for her to refuse him. "Of course, Luke. Whatever you want?"

Something was vaguely familiar about this situation, but she couldn't quite place it. And why was she oddly thinking of Joxer?

"So, have you gained any new powers today?" She asked, making conversation.

Okay...now she knew something was wrong. "Luke, are you feeling okay?"

Gabrielle gave him a wary look as he nuzzled her hand. "Seriously. Is this some kind of joke? Because it's not funny."

Of course, the look on his face made Gabrielle feel awful. "Oh Luke of course I care about..."

She paused mid sentence and looked at him warily again. "Snuggle? Okay, now I know something is wrong." She tugged on her hand, attempting to get it back from him.

If Gabrielle's look was confused before, it was double that now. "Yes...yes you did. Are you feeling okay?"

"I haven't seen Aphrodite all morning." Gabrielle said with a frown before giving him an odd luck. "You think it was you touching me that made you act like that?"

It was true, she hadn't touched anyone that day so perhaps she had just never noticed that she'd gained strange powers as well.

So, she holds out her arm to him. "Willing to test that theory?"

Gabrielle studied his reaction deeply, just in case he was putting her on. But the emotions she saw in his eyes seemed to be more genuine then she was comfortable with so she fidgeting when she pulled her arm away again. "Let go Luke. I think...Oh I hate to say it but I think you were right."

She actually looks crestfallen at the discovering. She thought she'd escaped the current island madness but instead she had a power that just made her horribly uncomfortable.
