"Oh, son of a bitch."

Hadn't this just happened to her last month?

Wanda had been out and about just long enough to get nice and resigned to the idea of not waking up with a new found ability, be it useful, unique, or completely absurd. It was slightly disappointing, to be sure, but it was also something of a novelty to actually have been passed over for once, and she was making the most of it. Mulling over the possibilities for research when an island known for stripping its inhabitants of abilities suddenly did the exact opposite, basking in the sheer entertainment value of it all, still being to go about her day mostly as usual... it was the best of all worlds, she'd convinced herself.

It was when she decided to go for a swim that she finally ran into trouble. In retrospect, she should have prepared herself for the possibility of something happening, with so many of the powers seeming to be elemental-based, but that would have required foresight that she apparently just did not possess.

Damn it, how did she never see this coming? She'd left her towel and shoes on the beach before wading out into the ocean, waiting until she was deep enough for the water to give her a chill before diving under the waves and resurfacing a decent way away. Diving as a woman. Surfacing as... less of one. As far as transformations went, it was less painful than some she'd endured, but she really wasn't dressed for the occasion.

So much for her new bikini. As well as any hope she'd been holding out of reproducing again.

Son of a bitch.

"Hey, uh, excuse me?" she (he? She was so sick of playing this game) called out to the first person who passed near enough on the beach. "Could you toss me that towel?" The last time she'd been caught on a beach au naturel, she'd nearly ended up on page six of the Sun for it, and she wasn't looking for a repeat performance.
