For once, Hank hasn't spent the night in the lab.
Sometime around 2am the night before, Hank had finally given up. He's been on the island for over two months now, and has exhausted every idea and resource he has. Of course, the equipment in the island lab, while advanced in some cases, is much more limited than he's used to. There's only so much that he's capable of at the moment, until he can come up with the raw resources to build his own equipment from scratch.
So for once, he's gotten a full night's sleep, away from the lab, and this morning he's well-rested and intent on perhaps trying to engineer another microscope or two for the lab. There's a lot that they don't have, but it's a start at least.
Towel slung over his shoulder, Hank heads to the showers. He's learned to make sure that he goes early, because while the communal showers aren't necessarily ideal when it comes to keeping the physical manifestation of his mutation-- which he still isn't sure amounts to much more than deformity now-- secret, he's found that it's deserted enough in the early morning hours that he doesn't have to worry about finding some kind of waterproof shoe.
However, this morning, when he makes it to the shower and turns on the water, it isn't someone walking in on him that he has to worry about. Or, at least, that's the furthest thing from his mind when he suddenly finds himself sprawled out on the tile floor, his legs having turned into a giant fin.
For a long moment, Hank simply boggles, his eyes wide and vision blurred as he's not entirely sure whether or not he's seeing just what he thinks he's seeing. That is, until he moves his giant caudal fin and it flops down on the wet floor of of the shower.
This is definitely not a dream.
