The only advice that Juliet’s gotten in the past few weeks is to let go of whatever she thinks she knows and live in the moment. To take this island for what it is and live a life here. Forget about what could have happened or what might happen and just enjoy what she has. She’s trying to take James’ advice - stop thinking so much. Live in the present. That’s what she wants to do, and damn if she isn’t going to try.
Today, the present is pulling weeds at the compound garden. It’s mostly taken care of, there’s nothing that needs to be done that’s backbreaking, but she figures she can do her part to help - if there is such a thing. They all eat the vegetables that grow (she assumes, she’s not quite one hundred percent on that), and she’s always liked working with her hands. Especially digging and gardening. There’s something rewarding about watching your own food grow. She won’t take credit for the actual plants though; she didn’t do the hard part.
Tossing roots and offensive greens aside she’s so focused on the task at hand, she realizes too late that she’s tossed a pile on someone’s foot, and she looks up, but the sun keeps her from seeing a face. “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to throw that right on you,” she apologizes, brushing her hands off and sitting back on her heels.
(ST/LT welcome. It's a great time to meet her, get her to try something new/go somewhere she hasn't been, etc.)
