gotham homeplot

February 26-27, 2011:
Jason is tense, smoldering in the shadows behind him and the yellow of his belt should glow with it. Jason isn't going to stay in the shadows for long.

Tim had ignored it on the bikes, told himself he'd worked through grimmer, deeper silences than this, but those had a comfort in them: Jason's focus is unpredictable and his response to stress is predictable in a way that offers no comfort at all. Tim had knelt to look at the tires, taste the ugly Gotham River in the mud and point them right, and Jason had all but leapt over him, propelled by--by need--and taking point along the alleys.

Batman and Robin, out on the town again. Dick and Damian haven't appeared to contest the farce yet, and it feels like one for a moment when they start fighting their way into the building. They don't mesh at first, aren't used to each other beyond knowing how to hurt one another, and Jason has that need. So much more than Tim does, surreal and perfect as it feels to have his old suit on, and have someone bigger, darker, watching his back.

They make it work.

When the three wake up in a Gotham City suspiciously devoid of its usual heroes, uncomfortable questions are asked, tempers flare--and Tim and Jason play dynamic duo for one night when the Black Mask's men mistakenly kidnap Jason's girlfriend.
