The damn cat is following McCoy around and he's looking for flowers.

Trouble is, every time he finds flowers, he stops to consider them and picks one or two and then he becomes too self-aware of what he looks like picking flowers and he puts them back. Either that or he hears footsteps and he keeps thinking that the person he's intending to pick flowers for is coming and he's going to be out of luck if she catches him.

McCoy's been out of the dating game a real long time, but he's fairly sure that it wasn't this complicated way back when. Or maybe he just forgets because he'd been a hormone-crazed teenager when he was wooing Jocelyn. And now, he's just trying to find flowers for Jean, but it's become an astronomical task (not to make a pun or anything).

And damn Plum behind him keeps yowling, slowing him down. "Come on," he sighs. "Just pick up the pace, we'll find some flowers and if we don't, we go to the market," he tries to negotiate. "What else do you have to do to occupy your time, huh?" he demands grumpily, heading off the path slightly when he sees a shock of bright yellow, rifling through the plants in a crouch.

It's probably only too late that he realizes with his ass to the path and his nose in some flowers -- a cat lingering around him -- he probably makes a potentially odd picture.

At least he's found some flowers in the meantime.
