California...knows how to party

Mar 10, 2006 18:31

Everything was ready.

John had showed up with not one but two boars. Together they had dug two firepits and fastened spits to roast the pigs over the flame. He'd demanded a whole container of wine for the trouble and Johnny had been more than happy to share his limited supply ( Read more... )

You would think that living on a tropical island would be a permanent holiday, but when Todd had asked Bran if he wanted to bring a couple of friends to a beach party, it had been...well, really bloody welcome, anyway.

He's dragged Will and Jake along with him--well, dragged might be too strong, as neither put up much resistance--and sticks close to Neil and Todd at first, looking around for the host.

Johnny walked over to the albino looking guy who was with Neil. "Hey, I'm Johnny. Thanks for coming. You're a friend of Neil's?"

"Todd's, mostly," Bran admits, "but Neil's too." He offers a hand. "Bran Davies. This is your party? You're my new hero."

Sansa had not seen anything quite like the Hummer, she had at first thought it was a shelter, and then from Johnny's word it would seem it moved and now it seemed to be playing some of what was considered music on the island, she wondered if any of her family had any idea what it's actual purpose was, she wouldn't put it past Arya. Or perhaps they had them in London, she could ask the Pevensies she thought, Moril wouldn't know she supposed he had an ordinary cart and horse, and she didn't have any idea what Sephiroth's world was like except that it had dragons.

In the end she decided the easiest thing was to ask Johnny, "It looks lke a wonderful party," 'what had her called her, the other day, sis, did it work in reverse' "bro" she stumbled a bit over the strange shortening but she couldn't call him brother with her family there. "Is a Hummer used specifically for parties?"

Ned had never seen anything like the Hummer before and stared at it for quite a while with interest. It had wheels like a cart, but yet did not look as if there were any place to hitch horses to it; and he had never seen a cart made of metal, at any rate. And there was music coming out of it, yet there appeared to be no musicians, much like the strange box-things in the compound.

"Most interesting," Ned mused, walking around the Hummer and looking at it with what was almost wonder. He would have to ask the owner of this thing how it worked.

Susan recognised the Starks' father as soon as she saw him, though she knew he wouldn't recognise her - the only time she had met him, she had been in Jon's body and not her own. So she thought she ought to go and introduce herself to him properly while things were relatively normal.

"Excuse me," she said politely. "We've been introduced, but you wouldn't recognise me. I'm Susan Pevensie - we met before when everyone was all switched around. I'm a friend of Jon's - and Robb and Sansa," she added quickly.

"Oh, yes, Your Grace, I remember," Ned replied with a bow. "It's a pleasure to finally meet you properly. I've met your brother King Edmund as well." He had not had a chance to ask before, when he met Edmund, nor had he had a chance to ask Robb later, and he was quite curious. "Sansa tells me that you are a Queen, and yet your brother is King? I have never heard of such a thing."

Robb has, true to his word, got some rest and come to the party. Not that he ever planned on saying no. "Johnny!" he calls, as Grey Wind bounds up to say hello.

Edmund, of course, came with Robb when he asked. He wasn't too concerned with the Hummer so much as he was with well...seeing the body he'd not only slapped Robb's body in the face in, but also done...rather interesting things with Robb in.

He managed to keep himself looking sufficiently royal (though Robb's presence did wonders to relax him), when he caught Johnny's eye. At least the sunburn was better.

Shaggy was skirting the crowd. Scouting the field. Surveying the crops. Sulking around the edges. And so on, one gets the idea. The humans were having a gathering, it seemed. And he wasn't even welcome. Those darn royal sensibilities are so very fragile.

No, he had to stay on the edges and wait for Rickon to bring him the meat. Well, if he can't physically rip into that juicy flesh, then he can at least imagine it. He settled himself in the shadow of the trees and watched.

In a perfect world, Edmund would've kissed Robb's cheek when he slipped off to go to the bathroom. The island was far from perfect. Instead, he merely squeezed his hand and whispered as much into his ear.

He slipped away. It never even occured to him that the creature who seemed to want his blood the most on this island was lurking only a hundred or so yards away.

Yorick wandered into the designated party zone bringing Dylan & Co and Dr. Mann along with him. He hoped Johnny wouldn't mind the extra guests. The boar smelled good, which was a strange thought, because it was boar, but hey, fresh hot meat was a good thing.

"Hey, flame boy! Nice music," Yorick called to Johnny when he spotted him.

As if her day hadn't been weird enough, what with the pirates and the sub and now a magical island, Allison found herself following Yorick to a beach party that was apparently being held by a comic book character.

Of course.

She was half-convinced this was all some weird dream (because why else would Drew Barrymore be there?) but she figured until she woke up, she might as well enjoy.

Yorick called out to his friend and Allison smiled and gave a little wave when he glanced at her.

Johnny waved back to the shy looking Asian woman with a slightly curious smile.

Did Yorick know every hot girl on the island? Life was so unfair.

"Hi, I'm Allison. I knew Yorick from, uh. Before. In his world or whatever." Which was quite possibly the weirdest thing she'd ever had to say.

Sam had reservations about coming to the party. He honestly wasn't sure how he was going to react to having both Johnny and Tony in the same radius.

He smiled at Johnny and waved a little awkwardly when they got there. This wasn't all that comfortable for him. Not...really. He wanted to light up, but he wasn't too sure how Johnny would feel about pot at his party.

So, he did the next best thing and hung close to Tony. He leaned in and whispered against his ear. "I'm so glad you're with me."

Tony was a bit nervous, despite having met Johnny once before, after he'd first arrived. Most of the people he didn't know yet, and he couldn't really blame anyone but himself for that; he'd been pretty reclusive for a while there, and the party had sounded like a good idea.

He leaned in close, smiling at the comment as he slid a comforting hand around Sam's waist. "I'm glad too," he replied, and brushed his lips in a light kiss on the corner of Sam's mouth. "Want some food?"

Sam blushed. In fact, Sam had never been so crimson in his entire life. And then, he broke out in a great GRIN.

"You're okay enough with this for public affection?" His tone may have been surprised, but everything in his expression and body language showed it as pleasant surprise.

"Or are you just trying to lay your claim on me?" He winked and slipped his arm around Tony's waist.

It was Tony's turn to blush when Sam actually put it into words. He hadn't really been thinking when he did it, just did something that was fast becoming natural. He didn't move away, though. "Maybe both," he grinned.
