There's No Running From The Darkness...
"I know you can feel it - the grip I have on your heart..."
Ansem's voice echoed through Riku's mind as he tossed and turned. He was dreaming again - the same dream he'd been having almost every night for weeks now. He was back in Castle Oblivion, struggling to throw off the Darkness still clinging to his heart. Only this time there was no King Mickey to aid him, no Naminé to console him, and no DiZ to point him in the right direction. Only Ansem and the cloying stench of Darkness.
"Yield to the Darkness in your heart..."
No matter how much Riku railed at the powerful Heartless it wouldn't leave him alone. Its hateful voice dogged his heels as he struggled to escape the castle, slowly sapping his strength as he worked his way through the seemingly endless corridors and staircases. He could feel his heart growing weaker and weaker as he fought off the shadows of his treacherous past that populated the castle. It seemed to go on for hours, maybe even days, and he knew that it was only a matter of time before he succumbed to Ansem's influence and was once again reduced to being nothing more than a puppet.
"Stop resisting. Accept the Darkness. You have no choice, if you are to serve me again!"
Riku jolted awake with a shout of denial, his pulse pounding in his ears and his body drenched in sweat. He could practically feel Ansem's icy grip on his heart as it beat frantically in his chest. Throwing off the sheets, he stumbled out of bed and threw on some clothes. Mumbling too himself, his thoughts hazy and disjointed, Riku pulled on his black coat and grabbed Oblivion from its resting place over the mantle.
"I won't lose to Darkness!" All he knew was that he had to fight, and Riku stumbled out the door of his hut determined to find Ansem and defeat him once and for all.
[OOC: Feel free to find Riku just outside his hut or wandering along the beach in a daze. Be warned that he is very unstable at the moment due to his recurring nightmare and severe sleep deprivation. Unless your pup is a close friend Riku will quite probably attack them thinking that they are Ansem. ST/LT are welcome!]
