So. Much. Rain.
Will hadn't really been dry since he and Magnus picked up that supposedly docile vampire squid in the Gulf of Mexico, and he was getting really grumpy about it.
He was also getting grumpy about the fact that, between the failed squid retrieval mission, the trek across this island or whatever it was, and the fact that he and Magnus had been cooped up in a little hut they had managed to secure, he'd been spending pretty much every minute of the day with Magnus and she was driving him nuts. Certifiably insane. And he had to get out of the hut even if that meant getting wet. Again.
For example, Will thought he was a pretty neat guy--he was no clean freak, but he was definitely not the kind of person who liked living in squalor, (unlike Kate). He might not put his shoes away when he took them off, but he hadn't descended to the level of leaving underwear everywhere or dropping food all over the place (unlike Kate). But apparently this was not enough for Magnus, who had been picking things up before he could even put them down, fidgeting, and generally driving him nuts.
And she never slept. Will knew this from back at the Sanctuary, where it seemed she was in her office more than she was out of it, but it was so obvious now. Will was an eight-hours-or-more-a-night kind of guy, firmly believing that healthy sleep habits were essential to optimal mental health, so it kind of grated on him that when he was ready to sleep, Magnus was still up, and she was already awake when he woke each morning. There was one piece of furniture in the hut that passed for a bed; Will obviously deferred to Magnus in this, because he was the kind of guy who gave his seat to women on the bus and all that, and for as much as Magnus was driving him crazy, he really did respect her too much to do anything other than make himself a little bunk on the far side of the hut with a pile of blankets.
So, cranky and bored, Will trudged his way to the compound for a hot shower, a change of clothes and hopefully a cup of coffee. The shower and getting dry helped his mood somewhat, so he wasn't nearly as cranky when he made it to the kitchen, where he settled in with some coffee and a game of solitaire on his phone. He felt kind of bad for getting so irritated with Magnus, when she was probably going stir crazy with no work to do, and wondered if he ought to take some food back with him as a little apology.
