It's been a hell of a day.
If you'd asked Renee twenty-four hours ago where she'd be right now... well, Jack Bauer's apartment wouldn't have made the list. It's almost surreal, being there. Laying naked in his bed, sweat cooling on her skin, listening to him move around in the kitchen. Feeling more relaxed than she has in God knows how long.
She smiles, toying with a lock of hair. They've earned this. She's earned this. The last twelve hours - fifteen? She's lost track - might not have gone well, but... they're alive, and that's what matters. She's alive, and she wants to be alive, which is more than she could have said yesterday. She'll call it a win. Anything else, past or future, they'll deal with later. Right now, she just wants to enjoy... this.
A cell phone rings from a few feet away. She barely registers the sound before it abruptly cuts off. Idly curious, she turns her head towards the source of the noise - it sounded like it was beside the bed, on the floor.
Except - the floor is gone. So is the bed. And the walls.
She's laying on sand, surrounded by sand, with the sound of waves coming from somewhere past her feet.
She sits up, staring, one hand clutching the bed sheet to her chest. "What the hell...?"
Either Jack's apartment has turned into the beach, she's dreaming, or...
Swallowing hard, she stares out at the sparkling water and prays she hasn't gone completely insane.
[Standard debut! Find her on the beach wearing nothing but a white queen-sized sheet wrapped around her.]
