With the sun's last rays dwindling in the sky and all manner of friend and volunteer being so wonderfully helpful, Jane believed that New Pemberley was well-equipped for the evening's festivities. She had the loveliest of help from her friends who only deserved the most effusive words of praise for their tasks in helping with chairs, tables, and more. The main area of the house was dressed perfectly.
She had spent the day baking and cooking to afford small trinkets and treats. Ianto and Guy, along with Harry, had been dear men to provide drinks and she did hope that it would all be enough for her guests. Beyond that, she owed Serena a great deal as she had helped with the planning and without the dressing of the room, it would simply be any other day. Now, however, it looked as though it was an occasion.
She surveyed the room and when she was pleased with her surroundings (warm food upon the tables, cold food ready to withstand an evening, music drifting through, and libations waiting at all points of the room), she knew that it would be the beginning of a lovely evening.
