When every door closes

When Yuffie returned to the Planet, Aeris tripped on the island's rocks, and tore the dress she'd been wearing. The pink had stained with red and brown, and if she continued to wear it, she would have distressed the friends who remained with her. None of the other dresses she had in the dojo seemed fitting, though. Every one held a memory of Yuffie, and she didn't want to ruin them.

So she'd ventured back into the Compound and chosen the dress that the island offered. It seemed a bit impractical for day to day life, but there was a certain simplistic freedom to it that made her feel as if she flowed free through the island as she walked. It was a nice distraction from the thoughts of her friend and the silence that echoed in her wake. Yuffie had always shouted over the silence than rang in her ears on the island.

She didn't choose to sit with the unicorns today. Peaceful as they were, the forest felt as quiet as the dojo. The sound of the ocean was much more appealing, and the sunlight was still a welcome change from the snow of the month before. She would have sat down on a warm looking rock soon after walking to the beach, but Kyokyo raced off immediately, a pink blur across the sand, set on a determined purpose.

Aeris had to gather up her skirts to chase after Kyokyo, but there was simply no other way to it. Sad though she might have been, her curiosity remained as rampant as ever, and she would have been a poor friend to let Kyokyo get lost exploring the beach. After all, the beach was much larger to Kyokyo than it was to her.

Fortunately, Kyokyo did not run long before finding its destination.

Aeris let her skirt fall back to her ankles, and stared down at the treasure, half-buried in the sand. She knelt next to the puffball, and dug with her hands to help uncover the elegantly formed--for it didn't quite look carved, so much as formed--wooden object. It took a bit of tugging, but it wasn't long before her half-buried treasure was free, and in her hands.

From the bottom hung a nametag simply saying 'Aeris'.

Aeris gave a small smile, and looked to Kyokyo. "She sent back a harp."

[OOC: As the icon shows, she's wearing this It's simple up top and very poofy on the bottom. What she's holding is a small celtic harp, It looks a bit like this but more elegantly carved, with depictions of leaves and vines running along its frame.]
