Johnny Storm was well versed in the various traditions that came with various parties, and having someone to lay one on at the stroke of midnight was in his top three, beat only by Mardi Gras beads and mistletoe

People were counting, and Logan was searching around for Jack, moving through people and glancing around.
Honestly though, after a night of watching Jack flirt, he wasn't set on the midnight kiss anymore. Not after the way Jack had danced with Abby or kissed certain people.
The countdown was getting closer, and his heart felt heavy as he went still in the crowd. He loved Jack, but god he hated these parties.

Jack knew exactly where Logan was. He'd been watching him from the corner of his eye nearly all night. As the clock ticked down the minutes, Jack closed in on his husband. Just as the countdown started, he eased up behind Logan.
"Looking for me?" he asked. "You'd better be looking for me. I've been waiting for this all night."
"As if," he snorted. "You promised this one was mine. You wrote it down. Like I'd ring in the new year with anyone but you."
And to prove it, he grinned and mouthed along- three, two, one -and then he caught Logan's face in both hands and kissed him. It was intimate and deep and unlike he'd ever kissed Logan in public before.
Holding on tighter, he tangled his fingers in Jack's hair as he returned the kiss. It was perfect. It was everything he needed after the night he'd had.
Pressing closer, he didn't care who watched as one hand slid down Jack's back, past his tail bone to cup his ass possessively.
Jack purred softly into the kiss as he melted against Logan. In the span of a heartbeat, the whole party fell away and all he knew was Logan. He poured all of himself into the kiss, into the embrace, too. He'd been waiting impatiently for this single moment, and now that it was here, he wanted it to last for as long as possible.
Eventually he had to come up for air, but Logan stayed close, not letting go as he took a deep breath.
"I nearly left when I saw you kissing the girl in the see-through dress. Hell, I nearly left when I saw you dancing with Abby. You were so close to her. Too close."
He blinked as the world came rushing back and he had to think hard about what Logan was saying.
"Abby?" he asked, then looked at the dance floor like she might still be there. "It was just a dance. We dance like that at every party. And Del's just...Del. They're my friends."
Jack just happened to touch his 'friends' a little more intimately than most people.
"Friends you grope," Logan replied flatly. "I had my kiss, you can go back to the party if you want. I think I'm past caring who you flirt with. I'm tired, and I'm gonna go home. Enjoy your night, Captain. I tried, but it's- It just isn't me," he said softly, kissing Jack's cheek and pulling away.
"Have fun okay?" he added, meaning it, even if he didn't have it in him to stay and watch while all Jack's friends hung around him smiling while he stood alone in the corner.
"But I thought we were going home together," he said, though he reluctantly let Logan slip away. He'd been looking forward to this all night and now all the fun of the night simply evaporated.
"I didn't think you'd want to leave the party yet," Logan replied, looking confused. "You've been having fun. You don't have to go, I just don't feel like staying. I'll be home waiting for you, I'm not running away... I don't want to spoil your night."
"Logan, I've just been waiting for midnight so we could go home," Jack said plainly. "I've had a good time, but I'd planned on going home as soon as the year rolled over."
He paused and looked down, then lifted his gaze to look at Logan from beneath heavy lashes.
"You don't really want to walk home alone, do you?"
"What? No, Jack... You really don't listen sometimes. I want to be with you. I would love to drag you away from this party so I can rip your clothes off and have you all to myself. ...I just didn't want to spoil your night by making you leave," Logan said softly. "You're the only thing I've wanted all night."
"Kind of a lot," Logan admitted. "I danced with a girl in a shiny dress, and I nearly kissed Scotty while trying to encourage him to kiss Alcuin when midnight came. ...Which is kind of confusing when I say it out loud."
"...You really want to come home with me?" he asked quietly. "You really want to leave the party for me?"
He could taste the liquor on Logan's tongue but he hadn't realized just how much the younger man had actually drank.
"Yes," he replied, taking the most simple and direct route. "I want to leave. With you. Now."
And he really didn't want to hear about nearly kissing Scotty or why Logan had been talking to House. He just wanted to go home and kick off the newyear in the best possible way.

"I thought maybe you'd found someone else to kiss," he replied, draping his arms around Jack's neck. "I'm glad I was wrong."

"What's stopping the dragging?" he asked. "You're no altruist. You're always so greedy...just how drunk are you?"
