Coraline wakes up in her own bed at home, it doesn't take her long to realise that the woman she is hugging is not her mother.

Trisha wakes up in in the woods surrounding Coraline's house and after running through the ideas of trees finally meets up with Coraline who explains the world that they are in AND the trouble that they are in.

Coraline and Trisha meet the Other Miss Spink and Forcible who aren't as sweet or as kind as they seem. Trisha is called on to stage, to 'help' with the performance, neither of the pair fully realising the danger they're putting themselves in, in their quest to save the missing souls.
