Robbie had finally discovered something that made the boys incredibly happy. Now that he was finished with the improvements to their house, their little blue clapboard cottage--a few months shy of a year after he'd got the building materials, but better late than never was the saying, wasn't it?--he'd used the remaining to build a sort of sled just big enough for the both of them. This was easier to accomplish now that they were just fine with sitting up on their own, of course. He'd lined the sled with blankets to ease the jostling and had gotten a bit creative and put a little sunshade made of an old sheet on the top, for Will and Heath were as fair as Cecilia had been and he wasn't about to have them get burnt by the island sun.
What Will and Heath liked best was for Robbie to take them and the little sled down to the beach and have him drag them up and down the shore in it on the firm-packed sand. They liked if he pulled them at a walk, but liked it better if he pulled them at a run, shouting like a fool and zigzagging this way and that. Will screamed with laughter, waving his hands about and bouncing up and down, while Heath only giggled and held on tightly. This entertained the boys and left them in an excellent mood for the rest of the day, and it also filled Robbie's need for exercise, something he had sorely missed ever since leaving the ITF when the boys were born.
Today he ran until his legs gave out, flopped on the sand beside the little sand-sled and let the boys climb out and all over him, and then once he was rested he popped them back into the sled and started all over again. Later they would go to the compound for a wash and a meal but that seemed hours away.
[ooc: slowtime is a necessity, new tag-ins welcome until Tuesday! catch Robbie and the boys (almost 8 months) either running up the beach or sprawled in the sand.]
