Passing by the field, Brodie couldn't help but pause when he say Siryn and the Torch tossing around a baseball. It was all so damn strange, the two of them shooting the shit without powers and regular people. Sometimes, he didn't think he'd get used to it all. Next thing, Wolverine would come out of the compound with TANG AND RICE KRISPIE SQUARES for everyone.
"Since when do you guys play CATCH?" He asked the Torch as he jogged in Brodie's general direction.
Johnny looked over, mentally placing Brodie as Jersey Guy. Sometimes a simple descriptor helped to remember someone. Most of the time Johnny didn't care, but this was Rogue's friend, and he was pretty sure he wanted to stay on her good side. "Baseball, dude. We were practicing."
"Yeah, for what?" Brodie asked, trying to figure out what the hell he'd missed. Sure, it'd been a fucked up week, but he was usually pretty on top of this shit.
"I KNOW what baseball is," Brodie said, "I mean, what the fuck are YOU GUYS doing playing it? I didn't realize it was THAT boring around here."
It'd have to be pretty fucking boring for Brodie to suddenly take up baseball. 'America's Pastime' his ass...America's Pastime was sitting on your ass, watching TV.
"I'm pretty sure Rogue press ganged half the team into playing," Johnny mused, "and yeah, it's that boring."
Save the world a few dozen times, surf the cosmos as a herald of Galactus, take vacations to the macroverse, and a few weeks on an island with nothing to do and no powers became torture

"For baseball. You know, the sport? People throw a ball, someone hits it with a bat, then there's running..."
