Draco Malfoy was having a Very Bad Day.
He'd woken up stiff-necked and poorly rested. His hair standing up straight from his pillow, it refused to cooperate, refused to lay down flat, even after a shower and nearly half a bottle of hair gel. He'd had another dream and it had left him cranky and humiliated and sticky, for Merlin's sake, and feeling horribly like a sullen twelve year old child.
He'd dressed, glared and squirmed his way through breakfast, through lunch, through dinner and everything in between. Avoiding every familiar face, he'd sulked in his room, and later hid in a corner of the basement rec room, hidden behind a heavy book.
"This is ridiculous!" he sneered to himself, tossing the book angrily to the floor, unmindful of any curious looks he might have drawn.
He emerged, finally, stubbornly facing the world, marching up to the bookcase and pulling out the first book his fingers touched.
