Dean poked his head in the door. The mark on his forehead had yet to fade, a large, pink welt that was shaped suspiciously like a forcep, but Dean forgot it the moment he saw the bundle in her arms.
"Hey," he said quietly, figuring Sharon would be at least to worn out to try murdering him again. "Can I, um..." He trailed off, eyes widening at the sight of his baby sister's face.
"I kinda figured when the cussing started," Dean admitted as he stepped further into the room.
God, the baby was so little. He couldn't remember Sam ever being that small, but then, Dean had been small, too back then. "You named her Terp - uh, Terpsichore?"
Sharon grinned a little and nodded. "Yeah, it was Kara's idea. Thought it'd be nice to have a name to go along with Calliope, and it just kind of stuck. You can call her Cori for short, if you want. I know Terpsichore's kind of a mouthful," she said, and motioned for Dean to have a seat in the chair next to her bed.
Dean took it, eyes drawn back Terpsichore where she lay in her mother's arms. "Well, I knew my dad didn't come up with it," he snorted softly, reaching out a cautious hand towards the bundle. "Can I, uh, is it okay to touch her?"
"Are you sure?" Dean asked. "It's been a long time since I held a baby." But Dean was already reaching for Terpsichore, angling her carefully from Sharon's arms and into his own.
"Wow," he breathed as he weight settled against his chest. "She's warm. Like a little furnace."
"Could be all those blankets I've got her in," Sharon said, shifting a little to get some feeling back in her arms. She hated to let Terpsichore go, but at the same time it was nice to get a little movement going.
Terpsichore made a small sound, and yawned. Sharon laughed, closing her eyes for a long moment. "Mm, she likes you."
"You think so?" Dean asked, believing her even though it seemed more likely that the child liked having something equally warm to sleep on. "Well, that's good, Twerp," he told her. "'Cause I like you, too."
"Did you just call my daughter Twerp? You're lucky there's nothing close by for me to throw." She yawned, closing both eyes while still trying to come off as menacing. "Y'know, in a way you're kind of like my overgrown son now. I will not hesitate to spank you."

"Of course you can. I'm sorry about the, uh..." She nodded toward the welt, making a face. "The contractions kind of hurt, if you couldn't tell..."

"I'll do you one better, you can hold her if you want," she offered, raising her arms a little.
