Second pregnancies were supposed to be easier than the first, or at least Sharon could have sworn she read that somewhere.
Hera's labor had lasted for a few hours, but Terpsichore's stretched from Wednesday afternoon to Thursday early evening. She liked to imagine she dealt with it with a little bit more grace than Kara had, but she was pretty sure she'd managed to yell at everyone in the room at least once. Especially when it had come time to push.
But in the end it was such a relief, and such a joy, to have another healthy baby girl. The only bad part was how much Sharon wanted to sleep vs. how much she didn't. She was afraid she'd miss something. She had Terpsichore in her arms, who was asleep for the moment, and Sharon was fighting the same urge. She rocked the infant, humming something softly under her breath.
