Reese wakes to find Julian Bashir gone. Unable to stay at her hut and distraught by another loss of someone she loves, she takes to Zaibas. Sensing her distress, the hound begins to bay loud enough to gain Garak's attention and he arrives to quiet the animal.
Telling Garak his friend is gone makes the night even worse, but eventually, Reese pulls herself together.
