The first thing I notice when I wake up is that my bed is much more comfortable than it was when I went to sleep. Then I open my eyes, and see that not only is it much larger, it's also got a sort of
strange canopy over it, with some kind of image on it overhead that looks like the sky. There's a card on the pillow next to me that simply says To Major Richard D. Winters, and I can only assume this is what I'd heard about recently, where the island gives us all gifts during the month of January. I suppose it's only appropriate that I receive mine on my birthday.
I'm so distracted by the appearance of the bed that I don't notice until I sit up that there's a change in myself as well. A brief inspection reveals that I've gained certain...assets and lost others. I'm not about to panic, though, as I've heard enough about this place to know that it's almost certainly temporary. Nevertheless, it's still a shock to find I'm suddenly female.
Sliding from the bed, I go over to get the mirror from my shaving kit, holding my now too-large pajama bottoms to keep them from falling off. And when I look in the mirror, that's when I gape. "Why in the hell do I look like Rita Hayworth?" Not only am I female, but I also look like a woman all of my men will surely recognize. This is going to be...interesting, to say the least.
I'm still me, though, I have no doubt about that, and being female is not going to deter me from my normal routine, which starts with my morning run. The only problem is that I need to find something to wear that actually fits. I've got no choice but to go to the compound and hope the clothes box is at least somewhat accommodating. The second I try my shoes I know I'm not going to be able to wear them without clomping around and probably tripping a few times, so I go barefoot. I throw my field jacket on to give myself a little modesty, even though it now hangs off me, and head out.
[Birthday, genderswitch, and NDPD post all in one! Timed to the morning of the 21st. Find him anywhere between the Officer's Club and the Compound, barefoot and in baggy clothing with a field jacket over everything. ST/LT welcome.]
