Ever since the snow had come, Jenny had found herself growing increasingly discontent. It was supposed to be a nice time of year, one to be spent with family and friends, and here she was, almost completely alone, with parents back in New York and a brother she wasn't speaking to. She'd thought the year before was bad, but despite her best efforts to ignore it and enjoy the weather, with days left until Christmas she just couldn't anymore. It didn't help, of course, that half the people she'd once been able to call friends couldn't stand her now. She didn't regret what she'd done in telling Chuck -- he'd had a right to know, as far as she was concerned -- but that didn't mean the aftermath was remotely pleasant.

After a few hours spent out in the snow, she'd come inside for a mug of coffee, and had wound up curled up with it on the couch, listening as the jukebox played over and over a song apparently sung by a little girl wondering where Christmas was and why she couldn't find it. That wasn't what caught her attention. It was only when it changed that she froze, staring at the jukebox in something like shock. The song wasn't one she knew, but the voice was. She'd have recognized her father's singing anywhere. Everytime you walk away or run away, you take a piece of me with you there, the machine sang, and she frowned, lower lip jutting out in a pout. It had to be something new, a song written after she'd shown up here, and that made it even harder to listen to. He was back there, and so was she, in a way, but here, she was without him. She wasn't so upset about it that she was going to start talking to inanimate objects like she'd seen other people do, but that didn't mean her displeasure wasn't more than obvious. She'd spent too long trying to ignore it to continue doing so.

[After more than two months, have an EP from Jenny, finally. It's a fine time to meet her, even if she's kind of emo. The girl needs friends. XD Timed to Saturday afternoon, and open for as long as need be.]
