Standing in a reverent silence, D’Anna wondered how long it took for the consensus to be made, if any of the other models had even a moment’s hesitation before casting his or her vote in deciding the fate of her entire line. The more she thought about it, the less sure she was about actually wanting to know. It was probably best if she didn’t, for everyone involved. Of course, she wasn’t about to give any of them the benefit of any doubt.
She’d gone to visit the waterfall that afternoon, something D’Anna had made a habit of, because living so close to it and not taking advantage almost felt like a sin. If nothing else, it was peaceful, and allowed her a chance to clear her head, reflect and pray… till she worked up the nerve to visit the church, which was still a ways off now.
It was when she had returned to her hut that she found it waiting for her just outside; it was a bit hard to miss due to sheer size alone - cool, sleek metal against the island’s natural backdrop. It stuck out like a sore thumb.
How and why a basestar control console had found itself there was well beyond her, and yet, there it was. While useless without the rest of the ship surrounding it or a Hybrid to relay information through, it wasn’t completely dead, the lights beneath the streams of water still somehow managing to glow brightly all on their own.
Maybe there was a way off of this island after all. Some assembly required.
