House was outside the compound playing with his dog.

Okay, not so much playing as much as tolerating his presence and working on his left-handed pitching skills. Of course, the shitty thing about throwing a ball to a dog is that the dog often brings it back to you, at which point the ball is covered in dog slobber. And House was pretty sure at this point that Padfoot must have been a fire hose in a previous life because he had enough excess saliva to save a burning building.

Not to mention that there was apparently some patch of mud nearby, and being the moron that he was, the dog took every opportunity to run into it and then put his paws up on House's lap when he returned. House stretched out his bad leg, watching the mud dry on his jeans.

"I swear to god, Padfoot, if you jump on me again I'm going to throw this ball at you instead of to you - hey, get your furry ass back here!" Padfoot had spotted a bird and gone streaking off towards... a much bigger pile of mud.

House wasn't sure if he should be happy that the dog was obeying his command to come back, or pissed off that he'd only done so after sliding belly-first into the mud. And then he was sprinting back, tongue hanging out and dirt flying everywhere...

House reeled back and threw the ball, hitting his dog square on the side of the head.

Padfoot stopped, shook himself, looked up at House, and then looked around as if trying to find someone else to jump on.

House was bent over, tying his shoe, but when he saw a set of feet come into Padfoot's line of vision, he said dryly, "Watch out," just before the dog leapt.

[OOC: Here you go, have your pup get muddied up! Or have the dog stop just in time, whatever floats your boat. Just don't have him hurt anyone. He wouldn't knock over a small child or something, lol. Er, though if they're a grown-up and carrying bacon in their pocket or something, he might still knock them over...]
