Ariel had brought Matthew with her to the kitchen while she planned on making Anne a special treat. Something sweet. But someone was already there, and her eyes widened a little, because she was the most unfortunate looking woman Ariel had seen.

That was a very nice dress, though.

Ariel smiled to the woman, settling Matthew in the kitchen's high chair. "That's a pretty dress. Did you get it in the clothes box?"

"Yeah, it's well retro," Vince said, doing another twirl and then grinning. "Was all the box 'ad on offer today. Nothing but dress after dress. Some of them were a bit more flash like, but I didn't want to wander around looking tarty all day. Wouldn't want people thinking I'm a slag."

Ariel hadn't heard that slang before, but could assume it's meaning. "Oh, well, I don't think you look at all tarty," she said kindly. "But I have to admit I've often wondered how women walk in shoes like those." She motioned to her high heels.

"Me too," Vince admitted. "But I reckon they walk in them the same way I do. One foot in front of the other and all that."

"Doesn't it feel wobbly, with the back raised up like that?" Ariel asked, eyeing the shoes. All of her shoes kept her feet flat to the ground.

"No, well... at first, yeah," Vince replied. "But you get used to it. You just have to practice is all."

"Really? I'll have to try sometime, if the box gives me any," Ariel mused. "My name's Ariel, by the way, and this is my son, Matthew." Who, at the moment, was gnawing at a teething ring. "What's your name?"

"He's adorable," Vince said brightly, smiling at the child. "I'm Vince," he added, sitting down and grinning. "Vince Noir."

Ariel's eyebrows went up. "You're a man?" she asked in surprise. Well, it would explain the fuzzy arms and legs, and it wasn't the first time Ariel had seen men dressed as women. Only, she didn't know they did that outside of the drag show.

"Oh, yeah," Vince laughed. "I don't usually wear dresses though. Honest. Well, not often anyway. Just on special occasions or if If there's nothing else clean."

"Well I don't see why not," Ariel decided, as it didn't bother her, though she did like to know if it was a man or woman she was talking to. For the pronouns, you see. "Dresses are my favorite thing to wear. Oh, and suspenders! They're strange bits of clothes, aren't they?"

"Suspenders are pretty ace," Vince agreed. "Unless you're an old man."

"How come?" Ariel asked, honestly curious.
