Drinking more slowly does not actually negate the hangover that comes the next day. It does, however, make it a little easier to cope with, perhaps owing to the sheer decrease in volume over the course of the night. Rollie could use some gatorade, but in the absence of that he'll stick with water and coffee again, and maybe when he starts to feel a little more human he might even tackle the eggs. Maybe. Or he might just abandon the kitchen altogether and leave it for those who're in good enough shape for a hearty breakfast.
He doesn't know if the island is planning on making these parties a monthly occurrence, but if it is Rollie figures by the fouth one he'll settle in to a good routine and not try to get half a year's worth of drinking in in one night. That's the thing about the island, you've got to take what it gives you when it gives it to you, or you might never see it again.
He didn't quite make it back to his hut last night, but it looks like a lot of people didn't so he doesn't feel too bad about that. After coffee and a cigarette and a shower - not necessarily in that order - he can head back and make sure the jungle didn't reclaim the place in his absence.
