When Daniel got really bored, he watched a movie, and, because of the snow, he was really bored. Ianto was off doing something, Jack was nowhere to be found, he had a feeling that Mimi and Tosh were closeted off together being warm, and he'd checked the Compound for the rest of his friends. Nothing.
So he headed into the kitchen, made a plate of food and a pot of coffee, and wandered back into the rec room. Most of the things it gave him were historical fiction movies like Marie Antoinette or The Other Boleyn Girl. Some of the things were science fiction movies he'd heard were almost as cheesy as Wormhole X-treme. One was Wormhole X-treme. He was tempted to grab that one, just to see what they'd finally produced, but stopped himself.
Instead, his eyes were drawn to another title. It was thinner than most of the movies, but it still looked long enough to entertain him for a little while. Window of Opportunity it said. It was an ambiguous title, so he wasn't entirely sure what genre it was, but it was certainly better than the alternatives. Shrugging, he grabbed it and set it up, walking back to the couch and grabbing his food.
The planet they showed, definitely not Earth, was a little familiar, but it wasn't until he saw the people that he froze, sandwich halfway to his mouth. Sam and Teal'c and Jack and oh, god, he really did recognize that planet. He dropped the sandwich to the plate, but couldn't actually move to turn it off. He sat there, watching in dumbfounded silence, not even noticing the slight shudder going through him.
