Ando had been settling in really quite well. He didn't have very many friends outside of the people he already knew, but when had he needed more than Hiro? Too many friends spread one's attention too thin and well, yeah. Charlie had been for a run and, if she was honest, she was pretty unspeakable. She'd thought that she might go and take a soak in the hot springs for a while, and then she saw Ando, which reminded her, she still needed to talk to Duck about maybe extending her hut.

And then she saw the sword in Ando's hand.

"...Oh, no," she said, mostly teasing. "Not you too?"

Ando glanced up and over at Charlie and smiled wearily. "It is not unusual then to find things from home?" he asked as he tried to remember if Hiro had told him about such a thing. He probably did and Ando refused to believe it in his stubborn state of trying so desperately to get back to civilization and video games and porn. These were important things and even though it seemed more futile now, Ando was still determined to get back to them.

"Not unusual, no," said Charlie, brushing her fingers through her long, sweaty red hair. "I got the shrine. From the diner."

She made a face like she tasted something bad.

"People get things all the time. I dunno why, though."

Ando looked sympathetically at her and shifted the sword to one hand so that he wasn't...well standing there with a sword out in front of him looking like an idiot. "I am sorry," he said, remembering that shrine, remembering waiting and waiting for Hiro to get back. It seemed like that was all he did sometimes was wait for Hiro to come back. He wondered if he was still doing that back home even now.

"This is the sword Hiro went after Sylar with," Ando explained. "My sword that I bought when I thought his father had convinced him to abandon the quest we were on."

"....Hiro went after someone with a sword?" Charlie's dark eyes widened and, under the flush in her cheeks from running in the heat, she paled.

Ando nodded. "The man who killed you," he was about to say, but cut himself off because he couldn't remember if Charlie was from the time when she died naturally or the time when she was murdered. Things got so complicated sometimes.

"It was very brave of him, but unfortunately I do not know what happens after he leaves me in Tokyo."

Charlie sat down on the floor with a thump. She knew, in the back of her head, that these kind of things had to have happened. Which didn't make her any happier about it, at all.
