Wipe Out

Logan hadn't been sure about having another surfing lesson so soon after Halloween, his mind and body still banged up pretty badly. Still, he'd made a commitment, and like Teyla said, physical activity would take his mind off the pain and the guilt until he was ready to deal with it. Besides, surfing had always been therapeutic in the past, maybe teaching it would be even better.

The boards were lined up in the sand, and even though Logan wasn't sure anyone would show, he sat down and waited. He felt relieved when he saw someone heading his way though, and relaxed a bit as he waited for more people to show. Soon he was on his feet and talking, instructing in a way that he hoped didn't seem too detached or impersonal. It wasn't that he didn't want to make eye contact with anyone or speak with more energy, he was just still struggling to be more than a zombie who'd found his way out of bed.

The wet suit covered most of the bruises, thankfully. The only one showing was the deep vivid one that streaked across his cheek like some sort of black and blue blush. It left him feeling a little less exposed, and as he spoke he relaxed.

"Right, so, uh, just grab a board and lay it down on the sand. We're going to practice going from paddling on our stomach to hopping to our feet. Then, maybe, we'll do some more paddling in the water, and you can try it out there."

(Third surfing lesson, though it's the first ever post. Gathering style so tag Logan or tag each other. Open to all, not just those who signed up. There are plenty of boards to go around now that Logan's started making them in his spare time. And watchers and hecklers are always welcome. :D)
