Mimi had known that directing a musical would be a lot of work, but she really hadn't known how much work--and stress--it would really be. She's having a great time, but things are going slower than she'd thought it would, most people still haven't memorized all their lines, and blocking was a nightmare

Daniel was all set to walk past the stage, except that he heard a familiar voice ordering people around. Sitting in the back so that the people on stage wouldn't get nervous, he watched them practice, standing up and walking to the stage when they were done.

"Well done," he said, clapping a little, a broad smile on his face. "Very well done."

Mimi looked up and grinned. "Hey, thanks." She got to her feet and dismissed the actors. "Thanks guys. See you tomorrow, if you can make it." Then she turned to Daniel again. "So really. What'd you think?" she asked with a wry little smile. There'd been some bumps and stops and starts, but they'd made it all the way through the act, at least.

Daniel chuckled. "I'm not the best judge. I couldn't carry a tune in a bucket. But I definitely liked it. Jack's in it, too, huh? And I think I saw Teyla, right?" Those were really the only people he'd recognized.

Mimi giggled. "I wasn't asking you to sing, honey. You can still enjoy music, can't you?" She winked, nudging him with her shoulder. "Yep, they're both in it. You're gonna come see the performance, right?"

"Maybe," he said, winking back, "but I have a lousy ear." Which wasn't precisely true, but he didn't usually try to worry about listening that closely. "Of course I'm going to come. Miss seeing your debut? And Mister Captain Jack Harkness? Never." He nudged her back softly, grinning at her.

Mimi giggled at 'Mister Captain'. "Cute. And you'd better be here. You and Ianto both. And applaud, even if it sucks," she teased.

"How about if I applaud at everyone except Jack? I can throw tomatoes at him." He had to add that, seeing how she'd responded to his earlier comment. Besides. It was Jack. Now that they weren't at odds, he was almost as fun to tease as Mimi.

"Just make sure they're green tomatoes. It's supposed to be the Emerald City." Mimi laughed softly, playing along. Jack was one of her favorite people on the island--partly because you could tease him. People took themselves too damn seriously sometimes.

"That's okay," he said, chuckling. "Those are harder. They'll bounce. I just have to stay in the front row and I can keep throwing them at him. And I've gotten to have a pretty good aim."

Mimi snorted and swatted him lightly on the arm. "Seriously, though. You ruin my play, I'll kick your ass." She beamed at him, knowing he was kidding, but she meant it, kind of.

"Well, I don't know," he mused, giving her a considering look. "That might be kind of fun..." He trailed off, taking a quick step back before she could reach out.

"Ohhh, honey. I can think of much funner things to do with that ass of yours than kick it, if it's fun you're looking for." She smirked, one hand on her hip, looking cocky and playful.

"Oh, I don't know," Daniel murmured back, his tone just as teasing as hers. "My ass already has has enough action the last few weeks to last a lifetime." He was pretty sure that would get a reaction out of her, although Ianto might kill him if she ever repeated it. He trusted Mimi not to, though. Or he could always claim ignorance.

Mimi threw her head back and laughed at that. Oh god, she could only imagine what Ianto would think if he'd heard Daniel say that. "You're wicked," she purred, touching Daniel's cheek affectionately. "You should be in the show." It wasn't a good joke, but she couldn't resist.

"Yeah," Daniel admitted. "Ianto would kill me." But then he leaned in and placed a kiss on her cheek. "But you wouldn't say anything because that would ruin your fun."

He winced. "Maybe if I could carry a tune in a bucket," he said, laughing.
