Mimi had known that directing a musical would be a lot of work, but she really hadn't known how much work--and stress--it would really be. She's having a great time, but things are going slower than she'd thought it would, most people still haven't memorized all their lines, and blocking was a nightmare.
She tried to rehearse every weekday, but the scenes she worked on weren't always the ones that needed it most, depending on who showed up. They were all just volunteers after all, and they had their own lives. So she ran the scenes that she could, filled in gaps by reading from the script, and just basically made as much progress as possible. Inside though, she was sure Geoffrey was laughing at her from somewhere on the beach where he was sipping mango juice and not freaking out about how they would ever be ready for a performance in less than a month.
Mimi took a deep breath and climbed the steps to the stage, raising her voice to get everyone's attention. "All right, guys. Let's see if we can get through Act I without stopping, huh?" It was a pipe dream, but why the hell not try, at least?
[Here's your rehearsal post for Wicked. Feel free to set threads for before, during or after rehearsal, and if your pup isn't involved in the musical, they're still welcome to tag in and just wander by or come to watch. Gathering style, so tag Mimi, tag each other, have fun. I'll be ST in about an hour due to class, but I wanted to get this up while I still can. Um. Yes.]
