Lily was in her office. She was sitting at her desk in the corner of the little, one room clinic in the Hidden Hamlet with the door standing open to let in a breeze. As time approached, her nerves went there and here, depending on time, or mood or well, her own sense of feeling.

What didn't matter was the fact that she was hot, she was heavy and she felt like she was about to burst, and wanted someone to offer assurance that she wasn't going to just up and die. Or if she was, that it was going to be quick. So with a fair knock, she poked her head inside the door.

"S'everything all right in here?"

Lily looked up, a bright, warm smile spreading across her face when she saw Isolde standing in the doorway.

"Yes, yes," said Lily, motioning for the other woman to come into the clinic proper. "And how're you doing? Feeling okay?"

Obeying the gesture as she was wont to do in times like this, she wandered in, her breathes a bit more laboured than they had been a months prior.

"Been better, I'll be keen to admit, hoping 'm not dying or nothing, all this heat and such. How're ye?" she asked, nodding her head at both woman and little girl.

"Oh, we're fine, honey. Just fine." Lily got up and walked around the desk a look of concern on her face.

"You sit yourself down here, honey, and I'll have a look at you. But, if it helps, I'm pretty sure you look far too healthy to be dying."

Obeying the other woman, Isolde sat, exhaling in a deep sigh and rubbing her bump.

"Oh, that's a relief. Tis only the feel of it, aye?" she laughed slightly.

"Not feeling so well?" said Lily, her head tilted to one side. "You're getting pretty close now. Not the most comfortable thing in the world, is it?"

"I've definitely felt better," she confessed, reaching about to her back and rubbing it slightly, sighing just a bit. "It isna at all. I'll be glad when it's done."

"Not long now, eh?" Lily tilted her head on one side. "And how's he doing? Moving around a lot? Keeping you up?"

"All the bloody time," Isolde rolled her eyes, exasperated. "God, worst than his father, I know that'll not get better when its over and done, but y'know, I just want t'be able to roll over."

Lily laughed, nodding her head.

"I know how you feel, honey. By the time I delivered Emmy, I couldn't even get into the bath on my own." She arched an eyebrow, still smiling. "That husband of yours making himself useful?"

"Ach, I don't know iffin I ever much want t'see him again, but he's getting quite good at staying out of the way," she laughed, shaking her head a bit. That was the way of it, for no matter what, sometimes it was best not to get underfoot, or hand or any of it unless she asked.

"Goodness me." Lily's mouth was tight with another smile. "The poor fella."

"Honestly" Isolde nodded, failing to mention that she felt he almost deserved. Turnabout and all of that. "Twill be almost done, soon enough."
